Whenever I open my text editor (EditPad Lite portable) I get the UAC
popup warning asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to my computer. Is there some way to make particular programs "trustworthy," so I don't get the popups every time I open them? -- Crash "When you get to a fork in the road, take it." ~ Yogi Berra ~ |

UAC doesn't like to have user data written in that directory, which is what your portable edition is probably trying to do. |

It is installed on a different drive: D:\Portables\EditPadLIte\EditPad.exe It is strange because I have other portables capable of making changes, like FileZilla, in the same general location, and they don't get the warning. -- Crash "The real question is not whether machines think but whether men do." ~ B. I installed it onto a second drive, D:\. Are you using the latest version? ( EditPad Lite 6.6.3. 21 March 2010 ) |

User Account Control - Fixed

Since this was a new phenomenon, I restored the system to the last restore point, which occurred with a critical update early this morning. That fixed the EditPad problem, and I don't seem to be in need of any updates. -- Crash Life is short. Eat dessert first. |
