Power down your PC, disconnect the ribbon cable from the back of the DVD
drive, power up the PC and logon to your account, then once again power down
your PC, re-attach the ribbon cable and see if Windows recognizes that a new
device has been added the next time your power up and logon.

Open the Device Manager and removed the drive, then reboot,
it will be re-detected as "new hardware" and reinstalled
with the drivers.

BTW, how did you deleted the drive, or did you just delete a
shortcut?
