Windows XP Pro, no sound

Default Windows XP Pro, no sound

i just installed windows xp pro, my sound card was
recognized (soundblaster pci 128) i downloaded the latest
drivers from soundblaster, i tried windows drivers,
there are no conflicts, just no sound will come out of
my speakers (which are plugged in correctly and work just
fine)
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Have you checked your volume levels and muting controls?
