cd-rom / cd-rw

neither my cd-rom nor my cd-rw drive are working now.
one day they worked, the next day they didn't. i have
tried uninstalling them, both in the system and
physically, with no luck. i tried installing an old cd-
rw and that didn't work. the drivers install, and it
recognizes the drives, but it says it can't locate
them.

try restoring your computer to an earlier date when your
drives were working. Start up in ms dos type
scanreg/restore or only scanreg.
