Default Reinstallation of Windows XP on a computer with dual boot

Hi everyone,

I have a computer where I have both Windows XP and Windows 7 64-bit
installed on two partitions, one partition to Windows XP, and one partition
to Windows 7 64-bit.

In Windows 7, I have set Windows XP as the default operating system there
start up when I boot my computer.

The question is:
Can I now reinstall Windows XP on the current partition without a corrupt
installation of Windows 7?

Very thanks for the answer.

/ Anders
