Hello
"Áîëüøà ýíöèêëîïåäèÿ Êèðèëëà è Ìåôîäèÿ DVD 2004", an encyclopedia (http://www.nmg.ru/rubrs.asp?rubr_id=477&gid=0&page=1) does not play audio. The audio is in Windows Media format. The Windows Media support is installed by installing Windows Media Tools 4.1. OS is Windows XP Pro SP2. The encyclopedia producer says that it could be because of the SP2 for Windows XP installation. The encyclopedia was for Windows XP originally, without the SP2. How to make the audio to play? |

If you change the default for those files from the program
to WMP, you will possibly cause some problems with using the encyclopedia program. But have you considered running the encyclopedia program and looking at the details of what file is running, perhaps there is an extension and you could try using "open with" on a trial basis to see if it works. It is also possible that you could look in the Tools/Options with the encyclopedia program and find a way to select your choice of player, this would be the best option. SINCE I do NOT have your program, I am unable to help or make other suggestions, except you might try Google. With a well written question you can often find answers. Try something like...switch player for (name) program to WMP. -- The people think the Constitution protects their rights; But government sees it as an obstacle to be overcome. "The default for those files" is WMP. An encyclopedia, for example MS Encarta, does not "change the default for those files from" WMP. The encyclopedia does not show "the details of what file is running". There is not a "choice of player" in the encyclopedia program. What SP2 for Windows XP changed concerning the Windows Media Audio? The encyclopedia producer says that it could be because of the SP2 for Windows XP installation. "Jim Macklin" wrote in message ... If you change the default for those files from the program to WMP, you will possibly cause some problems with using the encyclopedia program.
