Printer Spooler Service Stopped working Error 1068

Default Printer Spooler Service Stopped working Error 1068

I have Windows XP and one day i went to print and it told me that the Printer
Spooler Service has been turned off so i tried and re installing my printer
and half way threw it stoped and told me that the spooler service is off and
do i want to turn it on. i click yes and then i try and reinstalling it and
nope still not working. i went into services and clicked start on the Printer
Spooler and it comes up with an error message stating Could not start the
Printer Spooler service on Local Computer Error: 1068 The dependency service
or group failed to start. can anyone help me? please im desperate at this
point.

Aha, a Lexmark or a Dell (which is a rebadged Lexmark)... follow steps 15
through 17 at Bruce's website at

I have Vista Home Pre.. can can't get the printer to work, the spooler is
not running as per below any suggestion for Vista

Should be the same process.... remove the dependency.

There is a separate newsgroup for printing & fax issues with Vista.
