Default Telnet client - Using Hyperterminal and Setting up a new connectio

I understand Telnet uses the Telnet protocol to connect to a remote computer
over a network. Telnet Client software allows a computer to connect to a
remote Telnet server and run applications on that server, but I do not
understand (because I have not done this yet)

My question - When entering a name for a new connection and choosing an icon
Is an individuals Internet Service Provider the name choice and an icon
choice?? Mine is verizon high speed internet service. I could call my
internet service provider, but usually have difficulty getting an
understandable answer.
