Can't erase printer jobs
I connected a laptop with linux to my home LAN. I tried to print in a
HP Deskjet 3940 plugged to a Windows XP. The printer shows that is a low level document in the list of jobs and the printer locks. I tryed to erase the document right clicking and erasing and purging all jobs without success. Where in the hard drive is stored the printer job so I can erase that file manually? Greetings from Paraguay. Claudio Bogado Pompa. |

Depending on how you setup your network, it's probably that only the
Administrator has that permission. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "Claudio Bogado Pompa" wrote in message oups.com... I tried to erase the printer also but the same problem, it keeps showing erasing printer. I restart and the printer locks again (I have to pull the power cord to reset it) and the printer shows that is erasing. |

Can't erase printer jobs
Print (spool) files are usually in %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers
(e.g. c:\windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS). There are usually two files for each "document", one with the extension .SHD and one with the extension ..SPL. Try deleting the files you find there with those extensions. -- Bruce Sanderson MVP Printing http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
