Power Supply Unplugged While Computer Running
For some reason, within a few minutes of running Adobe Photoshop, my monitor
blacks out and then displays a blue screen stating that my computer was shut down to prevent damage. The computer does not continue to reboot but instead remains at this screen. The first time this happened, since the computer did not respond to pressing the reboot button, I unplugged it not knowing what else to do, and it restarted with no problem after I plugged it back in. However, a second time the same thing happened and I unplugged the computer but when I tried to start it up again there is no response at all. I know it was a risky thing to do but I did not know of any other options. Can you please tell me what could be going on? |

Power Supply Unplugged While Computer Running
Unplug the computer for about 30 minutes. Then plug it in and try it again.
Does it now boot? If so, the thermal overload (which is incorporated in many power supplies) may have tripped out. Unplugging the computer gives it a chance to cool off and reset. In the future if your computer locks up, instead of pulling the plug, hold in the power button for 4-5 seconds. This should turn off the power. This is marginally better than pulling said plug. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User Quote from George Ankner: If you knew as much as you think you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew!
