System Restore Schedule

I understand that Win 7 does a sys restore every 7 days by default...or when
a new application or update is installed. However, my task scheduler has it
set for a restore at startup and at a designated time each day. I don't see
those schedule restore points. Just wondering why?

Did you mean "restore" or "save"?
Restores are not automatic.
On my W7 machines system saves are done only before system updates are installed.
There are no system create or restores in my task schedulers.
For more restore points, did you click Show more restore points?

No Windows OS does a SR on it's own. Why would you want all your settings
restored without your permission?

Maybe OP means "creates system restore point"? O'wise "my task scheduler
has it set for a restore at startup" makes no sense, since a system
restore takes quite a while, and requires a restart, in which case there
would be another system restore and another restart and... and so on
forever.

it needs to generate one or not. It may "trigger" every
day, but the code itself realizes the OS policy is to
make one a week, so on six days it just exits.
