Default Hiding Icons

In 98 you could hide your icons by making your desktop
viewed as a webpage then selecting your icons to be
hidden from screen to allow for your wallpaper to be seen
clearly....well my question is two fold. One how do I do
that with XP and two how can I take my icons and create
shortcuts on my taskbar, any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Type quicklaunch in help.

Then type arrange icons (hide icons will also work but the hits are in =
the second section)

Hi Thomas,

First answer : To hide your desktop icons, right click on the desktop, point
at "Arrange icons by" and uncheck "Show desktop icons".

Second answer: To create shortcuts in the quicklaunch bar, simply drag and
drop the icons on the quicklaunch bar.

Hope it solves your problem.
