Default mouse "laggy"

after just putting together my computer i've been
noticing that sometimes my mouse "sticks". its not the
mouse and pad and i've tried other mice. When i'm moving
it sometimes it just keeps moving on its own for just a
second upwards.

Hello

With that being said try replacing the mosue then and just try
another ouse and see if you still have the same problem, also you
can remove the mouse and let Win XP find it again and see if that
make's any difference

Yes, I actually have already tried several mice and
different mouse pads. But its litterally like the i'm
moving it and then suddenly the computers takes over for
one second and keeps moving the pointer in the direction
i was moving it. It happens very quickly but can get
very annoying. Any suggestions would help...

Turn hardware accelleration off, that's the problem. I can't stand it
either, a small, short movement is ok, but a onger, faster movement is too
sloppy.
