xp firewall error message
When I try to enable the firewall in Windows XP (home
edition) from the Network Connections check box option ("protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet"), I receive the following error message: "An error has occurred while Internet connection file sharing was being enabled. The dependency service or group failed to start." I am logged on as "administrator" when I try to enable the XP firewall, and I am not hooked up to a network. I am only dealing with one computer with one connection to the Internet. Any tips on how to overcome this error and enable my Windows XP firewall is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help. Cliff. |
