Default Restorig start menu config

My "start" menu miss the theme appearance. I saw this behavior years
ago, and remember that is due an performance tweak i made. someone can
remember what kind of stupidity i made here to do this?

I'm not sure what you mean. If you want a different look for the start
menu, right-click the start button, properties. You'll see two
options, one for the start menu (XP look) and the other for the
classic start menu (like Win98).
