Default computer will not recognize data disk burned on another computer - both using XP

I used easy cd creator and finalized disk - the second
computer has the program installed also.

Hi,

Are you using the XP native burner?
If yes, the disk is not yet finalized. You can burn more
data using this disk in your computer and then finalize.

I burned a data disk on one computer using xp home and
tried to use it on another puter also using xp and it
says that windows does not recognize disk either files
are corrupt or using system unknown to windows. Any
suggestions as to why?

Are the CD-Roms/CD burners both capable of reading the same size media?
Some older CD Roms/burners can not read the 700MB CDs.
