Default OT Router to access point

I tried to post this earlier today, but the post never showed up on my
server or maybe it never went out from my server.

I have a router connected to an 8 port switch connected to another
router that I am trying to use as a wireless access point.

Here are the screenshots of the settings from the access point and the
main router.

Access point (AP)

Basic Setup
I turned off DHCP and set Local IP address I have tried 192.168.1.2 or
..10 with the same results.

Advanced Routing
I changed Op Mode to "Router"

For Destination LAN IP I have tried .2 and .10 with same results. It
seems that the router changes either choice to .0

Sub Mask 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway always set to 192.168.1.1

When I save settings everything works as expected.
-----------------

The problem comes in when I shut down the main computer that is
plugged into the main router. The next day when I turn the computer
on it is not connected to the Internet. I can unplug the cable going
to the switch and reboot the main computer. Then plug back in the
switch and everything works again.
