WoW, Microsoft admits Windows 8 sucks and starts work on Windows 10!
WoW, Microsoft admits Windows 8 Sucks and starts work on Windows 10. Maybe this time, Microsoft can get things right, or
we'll just keep using Linux. I love Linux because when they update it to a new version, they don't move things around like they seem to do in all newer versions of Windows; then you have to go on a witch-hunt to find where they put it. Not to mention, you get a whole new set of bugs that they never seem to fix until long after they come out with the next version of Windows. Regards, Bookworm Cowboy Lakeland, Florida |

Bookworm Cowboy the Inane puked out:
snipped the Linux proselytizer's drivel Originally posted to: alt.microsoft.sucks (flame/troll group) alt.comp.os.windows-8 alt.windows7.general (off-topic there) Reply posted only to: alt.comp.os.windows-8 I see there's another trash newsgroup (alt.microsoft.sucks) used by trolls when flaming cross-posts that I'll add to my kill filters. Actually I'll be filtering out all posts as garbage that include any "suck" newsgroup. Thanks, Wormy, for the assist in updating my filters. |

Look at your reply to Worm. You put all of Wormy's post in your
signature. I thought Xnews was smart enough to put the signature (sig delimiter line and sig content) at the *end* of a reply. |

Do a Google Search for Bookworm Cowboy and see what you find out about me? I'm no troll, but I do hate Windows 8.1. I love Windows XP Pro, and Windows 7 is ok. But I love Linux and have used it for years. I am happy to see Microsoft admit they made a mistake and plans to fix it in Windows 10. You can learn more in a new USENET Group called alt.comp.os.windows-10. Regards, Bookworm Cowboy Lakeland, Florida |

Not to mention, you get a whole new set of bugs that they never seem to fix until long after they come out with the next version of Windows. A lot of Ubuntu users were really ****ed off by some of the changes they made around a year ago. 1) Pulseaudio. Then, removing the compatibility library for ALSA based applications. 2) Unity. Then, removing the login time option of selecting non-Unity window manager. Apparently, options exist to fix that (install replacement window manager). 3) Synaptic, not immediately available. Must be installed as a separate step. And you know what comes next... At least a few users have yelled "Hey, I was using that!". But yelling doesn't help. In the future, we will have. 4) Systemd. Whether needed or not. 5) Replace Xorg (Xwindows) with something else. Huge crater left, when packages have to be migrated to another windowing environment. I can't wait for that. And you know after one release, they'll remove any backward compatibility library. (So applications that aren't getting fixed, will be broken.) I think there is a trend present there, of replacing perfectly adequate stuff, with less adequate stuff. For what end, who knows... With Pulseaudio, the only notable feature, is being able to play audio on one computer, and have it come out the speakers of a second computer. Now, I keep tuned to the forums and newsgroups, and I have *never* witnessed a user doing that (use the Pulseaudio "feature"). Paul |
