Oh no, the sky is falling! : D Corrupt court known for siding
with patent trolls gives Apple a slap on the wrist for doing
nothing wrong.

You fangurls are really stupid. Apple screws you without
vaseline, and you bend over for more.

How do they do that: by making products that people want and
selling them at prices those people are willing to pay?

Except they don't do that. They make LIMITED hardware at exorbitant
prices knowing that there are enough dumb people out there willing to
buy it as a fashion statement.

I wouldn't go so far as to call them dumb people but they are people
who like the Apple culture, prefer the ease of use right from the moment
they take the system out of the box and so forth.
And Apple support is number one by far.

People are willing to pay extra for that.
That being said, there is nothing magical about Apple hardware or
software for that matter with one exception and that is it is all
controlled tightly (although that seems to be fading a bit with the last
updates) so it tends to work well together.

$300 million is a drop in the bucket for a company that takes
in over $18 billion a quarter. Apple makes enough money in
profit to pay this fine in a couple days. Big deal.

Especially in the light of they don't pay any taxes.

Bull****.

It's accurate. Apple's taxes are mostly paid elsewhere and they've
been avoiding giving the United States even a dime. They went to court
over it near and after Jobs' death and Tim Cook was asked point-blank
why Apple avoids paying taxes in the United States. Try to pause your
fanboyism for a day to look it up.

As long as Apple isn't doing anything illegal, they would be doing their
shareholders a disservice if they were paying more taxes than legally
required.

The same goes for Trump BTW.
What kind of an idiot doesn't try to reduce his taxes LEGALLY by using
every line in the tax code to his advantage?

Every single one of us in USA does it every year.
Key word LEGALLY.

Hehehe... even Hillary uses the tax code to her advantage. She wrote
off 'Used old underwear' on her return. I got this info from Hannity
off of his radio network.

Probably because the local landfill refused to take it.

LOL!!! To close to the city too!
:-))

The bad guys are sitting in the Irish parliament. For centuries Ireland
tried to convert from an agricultural country to a worthless
nonproductive banking nation at the EU's expense. And that plan was
paid by the EU twice, by direct funding and by a big loss of taxes due
to Ireland's irresponsibe tax dumping strategy, which allowed companies
to avoid payments on a large scale. On top of that, when in 2008 the
economic bubble burst, they once again held out their hands to be bailed
out by the EU and the IMF with additional multi-billion Euro benefits.

When will EU representatives recognize that it's time to end that farce,
time to make the spalpeens understand that solidarity has to be mutual.

Again: how is Apple doing anything different than what anyone else does:
i.e. organizing its affairs to take advantage of the tax laws?

Again: The Apple deal (and some others too) violated Ireland's own tax
laws. These deals were kept secret until some furshlugginer so'n'so went
whinging to the EU Commission about it. That's when the **** hit the

i'm not deciding anything.

ireland decided what's fair when they came up with their tax code.

apple is in full compliance with irish tax law, as are plenty of other

Those who arrange for loopholes to be opened up for them by "the best
legislature that money can buy" increase the tax burden on the rest of
us. Public goods cost money. Of course everyone pays sales taxes, excise
taxes, etc, but income tax is still the fairest way to tax people. If
you get a lot from the community, you owe a lot to that community. Why?
Because without them you'd get nothing at all.

Have a good day,

The fact that Apple is extremely successful DECREASES the tax burden on
everyone else in the country.

But just like everyone else, they are free to organize their affairs to
minimize the taxes they have to pay.

is one a bad guy?
A person that makes a lot of money while playing within the community

I know. I know! I came to terms with my own intellectual shortcomings
by the time I was thirty five. Deal with it. Envy is unhealthy, and

Progressivism will evaporate instantly with the first nuke wherever you

apple didn't violate ireland's tax laws or any other laws.

it's also not an 'apple deal', it's the existing tax code that applies
to all companies.

google and other companies do the same thing.

google, facebook, intel and others are benefiting from this supposed
