I started working with computers as a programmer on an IBM 1401 in 1962,
and held a variety of progressively more-responsible jobs until my
retirement in 1993. In the earliest days, my involvement was with
mainframes, but toward the end of my career, I also had personal
computer responsibilities.

More recently I have been active on several Windows newsgroups, but
primarily the Microsoft Community web-based forums.. I served as
President of the Tucson Computer Society for four years and was editor
of the Tucson Computer Society Journal for over six years. I continue to
