Default Can't uninstall Free Avast

When I select uninstall Avast in Programs it throws up a screen telling
me what I am doing, and it is so large, there is no way I can move to
get out of it ... or to continue.

So I downloaded the Avastclear uninstall utility from their web site,
but need to know if it is going to work ... IF the Windows 7 uninstall
process never began. I am really wary of what Avast has become since
they forced a recent update, even though I had selected not to check for
updates. TIA, for anyone's opinions.

The examples i read were about people where the process was taking so
long, and seemed to be stalled, where Avastclear was recommended.

As another thread has been discussing - the Alt-Space menu may be your
friend: if nothing else, Alt-space then C will probably close it (though
Alt-F4 should as well). But Alt-space then M then play with arrow keys
should move a window. [Enter when you've moved as much as you want to.]
(You may need to do it twice to move it in two directions, e. g. up then
left or whatever.)

I would _suspect_ that it would.

Another thing to try would be Revo Uninstaller: the free version of that
actually _requires_ that the application's own uninstaller hasn't run,
because the first thing it does is run that (I think it does so to give
it some hint of what to do afterwards). [Other similar app.s exist.]

Try changing the properties of the recycling bin so that it just deletes
things (right click on it). Worth a try to suggest beginners things I
reckon. Sorry if you feel touchy about it. Change the properties back
when done.

The Free version probably won't work as the OP is running Win7 x64. He
would have to download the Pro version 30-day free trial and use that.

Thanks JP, to you and Norman ... I have successfully uninstalled Avast
with their Avastclear utility program.

I needed that boost of courage to try it. Thanks again to you both!
