see if disabling its hardware-assisted acceleration option gives you
better performance or behavior in the web browser.

How do you disable Hardware-assisted acceleration??

I'm running IE11 on Win7 64bit and am having problems with it performance.
A
lot of webpages freezes on it and I have to recover a couple of times to
get
them started. Don't know what is causing this, but wanted to see if
another
browser get he same thing on the sites of if it just IE11 problem.

What would be a good browser to try? And can you import IE11 Favorites to
it/them?

Any advice really appreciated!

I had the same problems and switched to Chrome. It takes some getting used
to, but I haven't looked back.

The thing I don't like about Opera is that it seems impossible to stop
it from sending your address bar keystrokes to Google or a short list
of other search engines they permit the user to set as default. Even
Chrome/Chromium lets you set up a null search as the default.

The Linux version of Chrome leaves services running in the
background when it closes so it will start faster the next
time you run it. Likely the Windows version does the same
thing. If limited resources are available that could be a
problem. You can turn off that behavior but it is buried
deep in advanced settings.
