Default Rolling back to Windows 8.1

I updated to Windows 10 a about 10 days ago. For a while all of my
programs worked. Then Word Perfect started locking up. now McAfee is
not working the way it should

I have decided to go back to Window 8.1 as I was very satisfied with is
performance and all of my programs worked.

It I roll back to Windows 8.1 from Windows 10 is it a true roll back or
is it just a disguised Windows 10 pretending to be Windows 8.1/

Will programs that previously worked under Windows 8.1 work when I roll
back.

Basically answered in the windows-10 newsgroup.

Unless a user installed program was installed while in Windows 10 or
upgraded while in Windows 10 then it should work just fine after a roll
back.

With the above said, some anti-virus programs that update daily might
need to be re-installed for example depending on how extensive the
program upgrade was.

Why not get back to us after a couple weeks, and let us know?

Good luck with that.

Roll back methods (e.g. Go Back feature in Win10, Image created from 3rd
party, etc.) are point in time.
- you end up with a device at the point in time the upgrade occurred
(Go Back) or the date of the created image (Acronis, Macrium).

Which method will you use (Win 10's Go Back, 3rd party image, other) ?

We did a roll bsck in our office as we have some dos programs that will
not print with windows 10 32 bit. I restored win 8.1 image made with
Macrium.

I don't intend to upgrade from windows-7, but if you don't roll back
prior to installing the macrium backup, don't you risk getting MS
confused regarding validation.
