Default Opening an application from the Taskbar.

I can do this.

But how does one "open as administrator" from the taskbar?

On some - not all - programs, if you right-click on the programs icon in the
taskbar and the right-click again on it's entry in the slide-up window, you
will see Run As Administrator you can then left-click on to select it.

You can't

The only way is to go to the Start button Find your program
Right-Click on it Run as Administrator.

Which "Application" are you talking about? Any particular one?

I'm sure you're right...but...justincase...

Find the program in the list at the start menu.
Drag the icon to the desktop creating a link.
Edit the properties to run as administrator.
Right click the icon again and select pin to taskbar.

Can't guarantee it works for everything, but it does
work for command prompt.

I do it all the time, at least for OpenVPN I do.
Here are my instructions in my setup file.

After installing OpenVPN, right click on the "OpenVPN GUI" desktop icon.
OpenVPN GUI:
Properties Shortcut Advanced [x]Run as administrator OK OK

That may be all you need, but I also did this too:
OpenVPN GUI:
Properties Compatibility Change settings for all users
[x]Run this program as an administrator OK OK

Hope this points you in the right direction.
If not, please feel free to ignore as I can only say it works for me.
