Default s-video to scart producing black and white picture on TV

I have just tried to get a picture up on my TV with an s-
video to scart lead and the picture is in grey-scale only.

Any ideas?

actually this has nothing to do with NTSC and Pal. You either need to select s-video mode within your tv settings, or if it does not support s-video you will need to tell your computer to output composite video only. Note that many tvs only accept s-video
in one of the scart sockets. IT may be worth your while reading your tv manual to make sure you are trying to use the right one.
