Can Anyone help me???????? You will need the CD, or another one. See if you can get a replacement from your hardware manufacturer (assuming OEM/bundled copy) or from Microsoft (assuming a retail copy you bought). I'm presuming you did an upgrade from Windows NT/2k, as by default WinXP is installed in c:\windows, not c:\winnt. ..... ? |

Help - I can't start My Computer
Can you borrow a comparable (Type) disk from a friend ?
Moving is always a hassle, but if you've misplaced the XP disk there's not a lot anyone here can do to help. "Bobo" wrote in message ... Can Anyone help me???????? Things like Windows Install disks are not things you want to "misplace". When you find the CD, you can reinstall Windows. Otherwise, you may be stuck with buying a new copy borrowing one. Good luck. Tallahassee |

Help - I can't start My Computer
I just came across this and my friend is having the same problem.
I have my copy of windows xp, will it just grab the file it needs off my XP disk or am I going to need to use my key code? I don't want to install my copy of XP on her computer because I'm using it at home.....I just want to help repair hers. Help - I can't start My Computer
Please don't hijack threads. You friend should have her own key, AND you
better make sure that the version of XP on her computer is the same as the CD you are using. XP home vs Pro and SP1 vs SP2. Help - I can't start My Computer
I'm having the same problem (appeared out of the blue) except I do have the
CD but it won't load. I did press F8 (a bunch of times) and have that advanced options menu but I can't get anywhere on it. I think I have a "Bug". Any ideas? |

If you are trying to boot from the Windows XP cd go in the BIOS and set the boot order so that the computer boots to the CD drive first. John |
