has the xp sp2 upgrade gone on to direct x version 9 ??? as my graphic card
supposedly cant handle it

To see which version of DirectX you have installed, type the following into
StartRun

dxdiag

What make of graphics card have you got?

Default xp sp2 direct x

WinXP SP2 installs DirectX v9.0c

Go to the manufacturer's web site and see if there is a patch/update for your video card.

says 8.1 ....ihave a asus v6800 delux, i recently asked them about updated
drivers....and i got dont use direct 9 as not compat

I guess your next solution would be to repost the query and our answers in a DirectX News
Group and ask if it is possible to DOWNGRADE WinXP to DirectX v8.x
