HD Output HDMI (1920*1080)

I would like to find out how big a file size of one hour of recording.

It is a CCTV with 960h resolution.

I am thinking of buying a 500 Gb drive to store the video.

Thanks.

That greatly depends on which video encoding type, encoding video quality,
and other encoding parameters.

IMO, an enough quality for a 1080p video encoded using H.264 would use about
2500kbps bitrate. An hour video would be around 900MB. Better quality would
require larger bitrate, thus larger file size.

I presume there's some reason why you haven't just tried it to find out?
(Perhaps you haven't bought the CCTV yet. But you could record something
from a similar-resolution source, to get some idea - a minute's worth
should give a ballpark figure. Plus, you could experiment with various
encryption and encoding algorithms to see if any give unacceptable
results.)

I have not got the cameras, but they are in the mail.

I originally bought a 720p, but there were out of stock.

They are instead sending some 1080p as no extra charge. :-)

I am also expecting a 1/2 Terrabyte h.d. as well.
