That's MIcrosoft's fax service and the only address book it will read is the Windows Address Book (WAB), the same one used by Outlook EXPRESS. Outlook's contacts are within its own .pst file (i.e., within its own message store) and are not also duplicated in the WAB. |

The OP wants to see the people while using the Fax Service, and that uses the Windows Address Book which means the OP would want to import his Outlook contacts into Outlook Express, not the other way around. OE6 has its Synchronize function but that gets people listed in your Hotmail address book (online) into OE6. However, there is no way to import contacts from Outlook into Hotmail (and then into OE6). If you look at the File - Import menu, Other address book, notice there is the "Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book". This will ask for your MAPI profile. If Outlook is defined as the default MAPI client, maybe this will import contacts from your .pst file. I've never tried it. |

What I'm not sure of is whether all those fields transfer over to Outlook when you import them. But as I said it works if you are using OE. YMMV |

YMMV --- REPLY SEPARATOR --- (only needed because poster used non-recommended quoted-printable for Usenet post) Since the fax service uses the Windows Address Book, the same one that OE uses, and NOT the one that Outlook uses, I don't see the point of migrating fax data for entries in your WAB over into your Outlook contacts folder. Fax Service can't read your contacts in Outlook. It can only read from the WAB. You would end up, if possible, migrating fax data into Outlook that was unreachable by the Fax Service, anyway. |
