Thanks for the links.
I noted several things that I would like comments on pls.
1) I am the only user and did not set up a password, so my system
automatically signs on from the Welcome screen to the desktop - is this a
problem?
2) While my 'Hide Icon' tabs are not greyed out, Kelly has a fix for that
which I looked at -- the reg file entry for 'EnableAutoTray' shows DWord 1,
my registry shows the value as 0. Is this the problem even though my tabs
are not greyed out?

Thanks again.

Sorry, I thought this was a polite request to 'please' review since this
information came from Kelly's site. If I offended anyone, I apologize. I am
new here and to Windows XP. I do still need help to resolve this issue.
Thanks

He/She did not order any MVP around. Moreover, any feedback from a user to
an MVP is very valuable and much appreciated.

From what you wrote, it would appear that you do not actually have any problems.

Kelly's tweaks are used to resolve specific issues, based on combinations of
certain conditions. They are not meant to be applied ad hoc.

Also, on that site you will find a link to directly contact the author of
those tweaks.

Lexus,
Question 1: The only problem that I can see is lack of Security/Privacy.
Any one who knows a little about Computers/Windows can sit down, power
up the Computer, log on to Windows [as you] and access any thing on it
that you can personally.
Question 2: This is not really a direct answer to the question; however,
in general the value of "0" means the specific feature is "not enabled",
the value of "1" means "enabled". Think of a light switch, 0=off and
1=on.
