Default Install Windows 10 "later" seems to be a ruse

I have just received notice that my download of Windows 10 is
been completed and is ready to install. However, when I went
through the steps to schedule my installation for later, I
learned that the latest MS allows me to "install later" is July
31st!

I expected that scheduling later would involve a calendar and the
opportunity to make "later" be next month or after Woody
Leonhard's Windows 10 Dummies book is mailed (9/10/15).

I'm miffed.

Look in the C:\$Windows.~BT folder.

Check the size of the folder.

You may find your download is in there.

Copy the folder some place safe.

I was not able to turn my C:\$Windows.~BT into
an ISO9660, but that doesn't mean someone hasn't figured
that out. The decryptor wasn't working when I
tried it. If there is a setup.exe in there or similar,
maybe that's how you can kick off an install.
Anyway, have a look in there, for "structure".

If you use the Media Creation Tool, and use it
to download a Win10 x32 or Win10 x64 DVD, a different
folder is created. And the C:\$Windows.~BT is
"cleaned out but not erased". So if you
were thinking the C:\$Windows.~BT lasts
forever, it doesn't. Instead of finding 3+ GB
of files in C:\$Windows.~BT, only a few text
files will be left.

Do something with it, while you have a chance.
Decide later whether it's still useful or not,
as you see fit.

7/31/15 Update:

When I went to the schedule later dialog box today, it showed the
time I set two days ago and the default, but the input had a
expansion arrow that allowed me to set a date two days in the
future (August 2, 2015). So I guess that one could keep
resetting the date every two days to push the date out to October
if one wished.
