Blue screen when shutting down windows XP
I get an STOP:0x0000007E kpdclass.sys error when shutting=20
down my windows.I seeked some help from the articles in=20 knowledge base. One of the articles ,which had a similar problem, said =20 that I had to upgrade my logitech ifeel drivers, so I=20 upgraded them. That didn=B4t help.I upgraded my BIOS to a=20 newer version, which supports win XP,too.Didn=B4t help=20 either.I have upgraded also my keyboard drivers.Wasn=B4t=20 any use. I think this problem has something to do with the usb=20 devices, I recently formatted my hard drive and installed=20 win XP and it didn=B4t show me the message after the first=20 restart. My computer started to show the message after the=20 2nd shutdown, when the drivers were in use. Here=B4s a copy of the message: STOP:0x0000007E (0xc000005, 0xF7979941, 0xF7AE09C0,=20 0xF7AE06c0) kpdclass.sys address F7979941 base at F7979000 Datestamp=20 3d6ddad3 My computer: Packard Bell Imedia RW (older version) AMD athlon 1000 mhz Gainward Geforce4 MX 440 Packard Bell Florida Motherboard /w Via apollo chipset 384mb RAM USB Devices: Logitech Mouseman Wheel=20 Microsoft internet keyboard pro Epson stylus photo810 Please send me copies of the answers to my e-mail=20 address, i fought my way here, and I don=B4t know if I can=20 do that again... Thanks in advance! |

After hitting "turn off computer" button, windows goes through process of shutting down, then reboots. I have to override by holding down off switch. http://aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.htm -- For most XP answers and tweaks... http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm http://dougknox.com http://aumha.org http://support.microsoft.com |
