Your system has no paging file or file is too small...
I have a client who has a Dell Dimension 2100 system with
Windows XP Home installed. Son does extensive downloads of music and programs and system was infected with W32.HLLP.Handy which completely filled the hard drive (40 gb). Norton Antivirus 2003 was installed, the system cleaned and all seemed well but the client then reported an error on startup that "your system has no paging file or the paging file is too small..." When you start Windows XP it goes normally to the logon screen (they have 3 users) when you click a user to logon you hear one low beep, there is visible access to the hard drive which then stops and the profile does not load until you do Ctrl-Alt-Del after which it immediately loads but generates the page file error message. After logging in to the 1st user by this method you can then switch between users without problem Any suggestions to correct this problem are appreciated. If we go into the page file settings through My Computer we also get an error message when we try to access the advanced tab that the file is in a temporary location... Any help is appreciated.
