Default MSN Messenger crashing

I am running XP SP2 and msn messenger 7.5. Msn messenger keeps crashing, not
sure why but in event viewer is entered the following error.

Event Source: Messenger
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 30/04/2006
Time: 2:45:14 PM

Description:
The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Messenger ) cannot be
found.
