How2 REGEDIT ICONS
I used to have the instructions for this somplace, but seem to have
misfiled them . . . I want to override the M$ default icons for Word Backup files. I cannot do that from the Folder Options tab. I need to go into the registry and change or ADD lines to use a different icon. The wbk icon looks too similar to the doc icon. I click on it by mistake and then run into file saving permissions problems. Using XP Home, Word 2002. -- : )))) Something's Fishy Around Here |

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Word.Backup.8\DefaultIcon The first icon in a file is 0, the second is 1, etc. D:\WINDOWS\Installer\{91110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}\wordicon.exe,= 4 So you can probably just change the number at the end. --=20 http://www.g2mil.com/Apr2003.htm http://www.sharpword.com/fascism.htm --------------------------------------------------------------- David Candy http://www.mvps.org/serenitymacros --------------------------------------------------------------- " : ))))" wrote in message = ...
