Default Good Screen Recoder (video) for WinXP

SNIP
FastStone capture

http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm

I use it mainly for images and scrolling webpages, but it can
do video captures.

I forgot -- it only does WMV
If you want MP4 (and a few others), there's Gilisoft Screen
Recorder.

Both work fine here on XP.

Hi Shadow,

For clarification, I want to record VIDEO off the screen. That
"movavi screen recorder" has a great feature, you can select
what part of the screen to record video. I NEVER received an
answer from them regarding my issue.

I don't mind WMV, so I downloaded FastStone. I will give
that a try and report back later.

Thanks again, John
.

Hi Shadow,

UPDATE:

WOW!!!!! it works!!!! I can even select screen area to record
video (WMV), and it is an easy ap to use, and for only $19!!! 30 day trial.

Note: That other ap, I had trouble launching, is 7 days trial and $39.95.

I will BUY it (FSCapture).

Thank You Very Much, John

I never knew that FSC could save video - but that's probably because I
have the last free version (still available), and it doesn't say that it
can. In any case, I rarely use FSC, because apart from scrolling
capture, FastStone Image Viewer (which I use all the time) itself can do
screen capture (among a multitude of other features). But $19 seems a
very reasonable price to pay, and is less than the occasional donation I
make for the freeware viewer.

Does anyone know of a good WinXP video recorder for the screen?

Oh oh, just looked at the system requirements for Applian software,
which a

Replay Media Capture (stream capture)
Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista. (Windows XP not listed)

Replay Video Recorder (screen capture)
Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP.

If want you want is "video recorder for the SCREEN", as you said, then
Replay Video Recorder will work but there are lots of these type of
screen capture tools.

If you want to capture media streams from sites to steal, er, borrow
their media content then Replay Media Capture may not work on Win XP.
