How to connect bluetooth earpiece to XP
I finally got my bluetooth over-one-ear headset working with my Android
phone, so now I've set my sights on my XP SP2 netbook. I dont' have the screens in front of me (I'll get the names etc. if any of you want) but I said Add a bluetooth device, and it found it, and then let me put my passkey in the XP field, and then it said it was Passkey Enabled. But no sound comes out of the headset. This thread illustrates an identical or simlar problem http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/d...ows-xp-sp3-pc/ The OP says this and it's all true for me too: "I ran the setup. The headset shows under Bluetooth Audio devices and says passkey enabled. But still the same issue. I don't see it listed when I go to: Control PanelSounds and Audio devicesAudioSound Playback-Default device." Is it supposed to be listed there? He implies his smartphone used to be, but maybe he's not saying that. ANOTHER VERSION OF THE SAME QUESTION: What is the XP equivalent of Vista and 10's: Sound / Playback where this screen appears when one right clicks on the speaker in the systray and chooses."Playbafck Devices"? |

It's usually installed with the sound driver's software. The native Windows version is in Control Panel --- Sound and Audio devices. Well I have Sound and Audio devices, but it only shows various arrays of speakers: None, left and right, 2+2, 2+2+1, etc. It doees have headphones come to think about it ButI thought it had t hem before I got bluetooth. I'll try it, but if you think it might not work, any other ideas. It doesnt' say anything about []'s |
