Retarded left libertarian (go Barr!) actually, thank-you very much.

You have done nothing to dissuade me from thinking Windows users are
generally more hostile than people who use free OS solutions.

I actually got my Everex from New Egg, but it is famous for being the
$199 WalMart special.

Not so glowing reports on Linux and its video drivers. No customer support,
poor RAM capacity, poor hard drive capacity akin to a 5 year old machine.
Not impressive at all

This is stupid. There is no reason to overhaul your PC every 30 months.
Think of the toxic waste. My computer uses 12 Watts.

And your computer still doesn't work

I have 4 computers. The XP machine is down right now, and I'm in no hurry
to fix it.

Why? Is it too hard for you to fix anything or are you such a technological
neanderthal that it would be impossible to fix for yourself. Which you
probably also blame on Microsoft.

It is precisely because of my techno-prowess that I can recognize that
Windows is a dead-end vector compared to the Unix-esque platforms that
are rapidly gaining traction, even as doubts grow about Windows'
viabilty looking forward.

If you can remember back a few weeks, Steve Ballmer went on record saying
that Microsoft would consider extending the life ofWindowsXPif enough
people asked for it. Afterall, many people don't want to upgrade to
WindowsVista because they are perfectly content withXP. The problem was
there was no way to ask for it. Sure, you could sign one of the many
online petitions, but Microsoft considers those "non-official complaints"
and the rest of us simply consider them silly.

Well, word has been passed down to the tech support teams (and then on to
Neowin) that they are to begin logging any calls that come in for the sole
purpose of requesting an extension to the retail life ofWindowsXP. The
calls will be logged and, if enough complaints are filed, Microsoft will
consider givingXPsome more time (no pinky promises, though).

If you wish to file an official petition yourself, you can simply call the
WindowsXPHome Edition support numbers for your country and let the
operator know that you wish to file an official complaint. Because we're
so nice and want to save you the trouble, here are the numbers for a
majority of Neowin's visitors:

United States: (866) 234-6020
United Kingdom: 0870 60 10 100
Canada: (800) 936-8479

If your country isn't listed, you can visit the Microsoft Support Site,
choose your country, chooseWindowsXPHome Edition as your product and
then go to 'Contacts' for the appropriate support number.

I disagree with their methodology but will make the call.

WindowsXPis fast, RELIABLE, and meets the needs of the vast majority
of PC users
