The majority are just too ****ing stupid to appreciate Linux. Look how
they vote.

They're so stupid to choose the operating system that just works out of
the box over the one that requires hours of configuration. Those morons.

Out of the box? Even if preinstalled, no sir. Lotsa crapware to
uninstall, updates to get, programs to install, reboot, reboot, reboot.
Back it all up cause they give you no Win 7 disc., etc., etc. If you
compare installing Windows to Linux, Linux is MUCH quicker, user
friendly and far easier hands down.

Notice you don't cite any of the alleged crapware that must be
uninstalled, and you lie about requiring at least three reboots.
Second, OEMs give you a restoration disc, so that's another lie. Linux
can't even copy a file without the poor IO scheduler slowing down your
system. It's the least user-friendly operating system you could put on
your machine, unless you think vi is an example of an awesome interface.

Norton trial stuff comes to mind. Nero extras also are on my immediate
uninstall list.

A restore partition is becoming more common. The last laptop and netbook
machines come with Windows and did not include a restore disk.

Bull****. In this workstation, I have scheduled hourly backups of the entire
system, and I only notice the backups are being made because of the HDD
noise.

What an nonsense statement!

Blah, blah, blah! We've been hearing the same crap to almost 20 years. Maybe
in another 20 years you will have an argument; MAYBE... The only real threat
to Microsoft is MAC and I can only assume if Google puts out a real OS for
the desktop, they may make some type of run. Who knows...

Microsoft did it right early on with it's advertising, ease of acquiring
their operating Systems, ease of install, and how they rooted themselves
into so many different manufactures... (Dell, HP, gateway, micron, etc..) I
was a big fan of OS/2, and when Windows95 came out, it completely killed
most OS's that were out there at the time...

I just adapted to Microsoft, and enjoy the ease of use, rather than spend
hours or days just to get the sound to work or get the right video drivers
in Linux... It's just not worth my time. I paid 100 dollars for windows 7
pro (32/64bit). For 100 bucks, I loaded my system and everything just worked
pretty much out of the box within 2 hours. I think I downloaded drivers for
my sound card, video card and printer, that's it!
I do download the latest version of Linux from time to time, whether it be
RedHat, UBOOBOO, mint, etc.... and try it out. I'll admit after 20 years
it's gotten a little better, but come on, 20 years and we're still having to
use cryptic command lines, still having trouble with sound or video or
network drivers or performance issues?

Not if you take the hard drive out that has Windows on it, put in a new

restore it if you ever need warranty work.

A bit late, but couldn't resist.. A Linux paid shill? You are kidding,
right? ROFLMAO It's more like MS paid shills and astroturfers all over
the place, particularly where Linux is concerned. (Running scared) Just
take a look in the COLA group to get a good idea of the extent of MS
paid shills, astroturfers and FUD spreaders. ..But not nearly limited to
there, MS shills are EVERYWHERE, and now including Youtube.
Look deep into the lawsuits MS has had to fight, (And LOST), and you
will find plenty of eye-opening documents detailing their dirty
practices. It's no secret to anyone savvy or anyone willing to take the
time for research, but MS Zealots, Shills, Astroturfers, and MS
professional FUD spreaders will vehemently deny actual court documents
printed in plain black and white. Those documents include internal MS
documents outlining their dirty agendas and practices, by the way. I
have read them myself.

G'day
