Not if you're running 8.1. I recently acquired a machine that was running 8, and it was like going back to the paleolithic era. The first thing I thought of when I saw Win 8 running was "I really DON'T want an iPhone". This junk (all the tiles) doesn't belong on a real computer. Some things required clicking with the mouse pointer OFF THE SCREEN, making the thing unusable in some cases. Win 7, however, might be considered an upgrade. When 7 came out, I remember it being described as an improved version of Vista. Once I considered Win 2000 to be the best version, before it became incompatible with so much. Now 7 is the best version. I wish they had forked off of that version. Just about everything about 8 should have been chucked in the bin, excepting the greatly improved Task Manager. Yes, although they'd still have to add crap. -- Mark Lloyd http://notstupid.us/ "God is a divider, not a uniter." |
