Default Duplicate Phantom Listing in Explorer

I pose this every month or so to see if anyone has a new good idea :

I have 2 listings for Program Files:

The 1st is the normal complete folder structure, and behaves normally.

The 2nd is an exact duplicate ot the 1st folder structure but 0 bytes
and none of the folders are accessible indicating that the location or
file can't be found.

Any change to the 1st folder structure is immediately reflected in the
identical folder structure of the 2nd without taking any action on the
2nd.

All works OK through the 1st and I go about just ignoring the phantom
2nd which unexpanded is only a single line.

STILL, I'd like to eliminate the 2nd phantom listing as it apparently
serves no purpose and somehow just doesn't belong.

Hoping some hot shot expert can tell me what's going on and how to
delete the 2nd.

I've been following your threads over the months but don't remember:
How do you access: C:\Windows\explorer.exe
What happens when you type explorer.exe into a dos box?
What happens when you use this shortcut: C:\Windows\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\

These just open a version of explorer which has the same 2 duplicate
listings.
