Maybe that has to do with you having moved to Australia? 45 years ago and yet you still feel a need to qualify all interactions with others by adding that you're *really* a Brit. This is a usage group, and there are many different kinds of English usage. There was a custom here, observed by a number of Regulars, of adding a short account of your linguistic background to your sig, so that readers could evaluate your comments in the light of that background.
