Very off topic Hudl 2
Google has not been my friend and I don't know where else to ask.
Wife has a Hudl 2 and has been messing around with ebay. She finds something she likes, hits "Buy Now". She does not have account but she was going to use mine to sign in or create an account. No keyboard appears, thus she can't do anything. I feel that I'm missing the obvious. Anybody help? Thanks. |

Search terms are "Google Keyboard" or "OSK" which is a shorthand for an On-Screen Keyboard. "Tesco HUDL 2 Google Keyboard" Paul |

It's probably the same gesture that a regular Android would use. You'd also need to know your "version" of OS, as the features change with time. There is mention here of a "long press" on a Menu button, to activate the keyboard. https://android.stackexchange.com/qu...p-the-keyboard Paul |

I'm still XP and know very little of these Android devices. I'm not really too sure of how to turn the Hudl off. Thanks for your kind help. |

See Paul's answer for the proper answer. However, especially if she quite likes the Hudl 2, get her one of these nice cases for it for Christmas: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f...p2045573.m1684 .. You could even not tell her that it's got a keyboard in it! We bought such a case for an old lady friend with a tablet (I think hers was a Lenovo) last year; I think we paid about thirtysomething for it, but either they've come down a lot or Hudl ones are cheaper. At the prices these start at, you could afford to go a long way up the price list - I haven't looked at any of the descriptions, but I'd look to see if there's any mention of the quality of the keys. (Even a cheap one would be easier to use than the on-screen one, but you might as well get the best you can. Oh, and make sure it says it has holes for things in the right places - sockets, the camera; if they say they're for the Hudl 2 they should anyway, but do check.) Our friend was delighted with it - just the case, to protect her tablet, and then when she found it had a keyboard as well, she was over the moon! (Basically, it makes the tablet look like a laptop. But don't mention that fact, as tablet enthusiasts maybe don't want a laptop.) -- J. P. Gilliver. She said that she would never use it, so that is that. Cheers for the idea. |
