Default Good or bad?

Hi all,

I've seen videos of the new Windows 8 interface. To me it seems more
like web-wide-web functionality, with greater depth of UI. As much as
this is graphically impressive, the phrase 'if its not broken, don't fix
it' springs to mind. I know people who still struggle with the SAME
classic windows UI after ten years, people who have yet to grasp 'icons
= 2clicks, hyperlinks = 1click", how will they fair with the new
interface? My guess is that it will introduce yet further struggle for
such users. But I might be wrong!

Any thoughts?

CORRECTION:
'world-wide-web' not 'web-wide-web'

This is what it looks like, if you add "ClassicShell" to the OS.

You can still get "stuck" in a Metro application. I trigger
them by accident, when trying to open certain file types. So
that option does not completely remove Metro from a desktop
computer. A Metro application takes over the whole screen.
