Hey!

I m about to go to the pc area and treat myself...I would really like
to get NEW FANS because there a unbearable noise(beleve me)and it's
been a lot hotter lately!

how do i know what to buy? where to get the info i need to choose the
right fan??( i m sorry i don't have a clue about anything electric on
my pc)

then the second question is if i wanna be sure that the outlet gives
the right amount of electricity how can i test that and again what
sould i do before to go to the shop????

(I know, it's a lot to ask but, i m in china, with poor chinese skill
and they just donn't care here they would sell you a video card as a
peacemaker if they think you'll buy it!!@##@$%#%!$#@@)

THANKS

Your two paramters are dB noise and CFM (volume of air
moved). With more air, you get more noise. Some fans make
less noise for same CFM. See manufacturer numbers. Or look
up those numbers from many manufacturer in one location such
as
www.digikey.com
www.alliedelec.com
www.mouser.com
www. jamesco.com
www.newark.com
Then take what you have learned to purchase equivalent in
china. Notice for example sleeve bearing verses ball bearing
fans.

Also a larger fan can move same air with less noise.
Upgrade an 80 mm fan with a 120 mm fan to reduce noise and yet
still move same air. Furthermore, on fan moving 30 CFM is
more than sufficient cooling for most every computer chassis.

Power cable from power supply can provide 5 volt or 12 volt
to fan. Most use 12 volts DC for reasons we need not discuss.

Having just put together a new system I used only Panaflo and Vantec Stealth
Fans after doing some research on various forums.
I used 80mm fans because thats what I had room for.The noise level compared to
my older system is halved, this new system uses 5 fans versus the old systems 3
fans. They are quiet and move the required amount of air to keep my OC'd system
cool......

thanks guys very helpfull!

i just got to the market and saw what you are talking about....and
china isn't as bad as i pretend it's just a bit confusing with a ****
load of company no name but do the same average job!!

i was just really scared of blowing sth or having problem with the
electricity comming in my building doesn't seem to be a proble.

i came back with a nice and cheesy neon fan that is not too quiet but
hey it's just cheesycool!!
and i try to change the fan on my geforce(well i guess i got the wrong
one(non info on it only the name, in english with spelling mistake!!!
china ; ) ) as the size is good but it doesnt respond! I'll bring
the old one next time and that's what i recomand to do over here so
they can't tell you ' oh! sure it should maybe work!"

thanks again
