Rightclick the drive icon in Explorer, then properties. Be sure the checkbox
for recording is checked. -- Please use the Communities guidelines when posting. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...help_en-us.htm Use the "Ratings" feature. It helps the new users. Mark L. Be sure the checkbox for recording is checked. Double click on 'My Computer' Now right click on the icon representing your CD-RW drive. A box should open up with a number of tabs along the top edge. One of those tabs should say 'Recording': click on it. There should now be a check box that says 'Enable recording for this drive'. Make sure it is checked (it probably isn't). Now click the OK button. The 'Send To' menu should now have the CD drive as a destination. If it hasn't, you can try unchecking the 'Enable recording for this drive' and OK out. And then repeat the procedure re-enabling the recording and OK out. |

The answer can be found he
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316529/ If you are not comfortable with editing the registry (which can be dangerous if one is not careful), find someone who is. jason wrote: Hi I hope i'm not driving you insane but the only tabs i have are General, Autoplay, Hardware and Sharing. Hi Daave
I followed it to the letter but no change. The drive still doesn't appear on the "send to" list when i'm trying to save pictures, music etc..... Sorry that didn't work.
What is the make and model of your DVD drive? Is it on the Windows XP Hardware Compatibility List?: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx Were you ever able to use this drive properly? If so, when did your current problem begin? If it were me, I would just use a program like the free CDBurnerXP: http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ You may also use this program to burn music CDs and video DVDs as well as bootable disks. And you won't ever have to worry about the missing tab! "jason" wrote in message ... Hi Daave I followed it to the letter but no change. And you won't ever have to worry about the missing tab! To be honest, you would be better using a third party CD burning utility. The Windows XP built in utility is very limited in its usability, and it also writes CDs in a technically invalid format (though most current CD-ROM drives don't seem to care, but many older ones do). |
