Default 961051: Patch Caveat PPTP, Cisco, CheckPoint

Post installation of this patch on an Windows XP SP3 workstation running VPN
connections; all VPN connection ceased to function

Affected: PPTP, L2TP, Cisco VPN Client, CheckPoint VPN.
========
Resolution: Uninstall the patch and install Firefox.
--------------------------------------------------
Hopefully a better regression tested version of this patch will be
forthcoming.

Were the workarounds undone prior to installing KB960714 ?
If no joy, then report the issue since it's doubtful anyone from MS will
