Why should a third party explain?

To provide an independent viewpoint.

There remain 'problems' with www.Tekrider.net, viz:-

https://www.dropbox.com/s/xtqj0901b2....net.tiff?dl=0

Sucuri have indeed altered their assessment of Tekrider.net (now no
report of malware!) but they NOW say this:-

Scan for: http://tekrider.net

To my mind, something *IS* amiss with BTS's web site ....

*OR* he's simply playing games.

Which is it, folks?

There is lots of older, great and even essential software, that will
not run under anything very much after XP. Certainly not in 7, 8 or
10. I keep a virtual machine running XP for these apps.

Thanks, SteveGG :-)

I'm wondering how long it takes from submitting a 'bad guy' report to
the FBI before 'bts' gets the 'knock at his door'!

I have lots of programs developed in Quick Basic 4.5 and Visual Basic
3; lots of critical stuff I use often ...

e.g.(s) - converting numbers between different bases, calculating
times between dates, regression curve fittings ( linear, polynomial,
exponential and power models ), censored data analysis, Gauss-Jordan
elimination calculations, stereo imaging software, John Conway's game
of life, mortgage calculations, thermal endurance life testing
analysis, thermal degradation data analysis ( both conventional and
FTFM methods ), wire insulation thermal data analysis ( 3 models )

- to name a few that come to mind.

None will run in Windows 7, 8 or 10 !

So glad I have an XP virtual machine !

I do hope you've been stupid enough to do that, David. The FBI takes
fake reports like that quite seriously. And, my country does cooperate
with yours. Continue writing **** like this though, I'm enjoying the
fact that you're showing your true colors to your photo newsgroup.
Like I told them when I initially discussed you, they didn't need to
take my word concerning what a sorry piece of **** stalking rat *******
you are.

OT up.
Start another thread. I'm interested in XP freeware.

16-bit software? If you are running a 64-bit Windows, 16-bit
software will not run.

So glad I have an XP virtual machine !

I use DOSBox myself for some 16-bit utilities that I wrote in
QBasic.

Oh wow.. windows 3x VB.. Your quick basic apps can be run for the
most part using DOSBox under windows 7 or later. As for VB3, it
creates 16bit NE executables...afaik, those aren't supported on
windows 7 or better.

Since you seem to like older software, you might enjoy this site:

I certainly don't "like" older software, BUT just want to be able to
run what I need.

I've also developed 7 great apps in Visual Basic 6, that run just fine
in any Windows version. i.e. - Mandelbrot exploration, Julia plots,
Chaos Engine, Mortgage computations, Conway's Game of Life, Worm
Simulation and Logistic Equation.

We have a product that was done with VB6. It's another division so I'm
not sure of the details but I do know there is a dll that they
distribute with the executable. The dll still exists in Windows but a
function changed, breaking compatibility.

That's because vb6 creates PE executables (32bit) vs vb3's NE
executables (16bit)

If you're writing about the vbrunxxx.dll file, The dll is the
runtime, itself. VB doesn't create truely independent compiled
programs by default. You can opt to include the runtime it requires
but your exe file will grow by several megabytes. And it still may
not be an independent exe able to run on another machine without
'installation'; that depends on how many 3rd party tools/libraries
you used to make up for what VB is lacking. And, if you were able to
include all of them into the .exe at compile time. Which makes your
..exe that much larger as a result.

VB is a great example of the opposite of tight/fast/efficient code
output.
