How often should you use Disk Defrag? I now have mine set for once a
month. Thanks.

That should be plenty. I believe windows 7 defrags when necessary if you set
it to do so.

I also defrag about once a month.
How do you set Windows 7 to defrag automatically?
Thanks.

Thanks for the advertisement, but what does it have to do with Jeff's
question.

What did Jeff ask? What does the article say?

So if someone tells you where is the wall switch to turn off the room
lights, you can't figure out it's the same wall switch to turn them on?

I don't know why a simple question couldn't be answered simply without
all the clever BS. If you didn't get the answer yet (I didn't follow
the thread to the end. Too much smart assed bull****) do the
following.

click "Control Panel"
click "Performance information and tools"
click "Advanced Tools"
click "Open Disk Defragmenter"

pick your choices.

I think that some people, including myself, consider automatically to
mean 'on demand' rather scheduled.

BTW your list of clicks is not standard on many W7 installations.

I appreciate your understanding of "automatic" and "on demand".
Perhaps this can help.

au·to·mat·ic
   [aw-tuh-mat-ik]
adjective
1.
having the capability of starting, operating, moving, etc.,
independently

"Many"? How "many".

It's great to criticize when you haven't contributed.

Q

Where do you set W7 to defragment when necessary? It can be run
manually or scheduled to daily, weekly, monthly but that's it so far
as I know.
