Face it, both of you, who are so much smarter than the rest of us.

With your "modern" methods, you "just can't" do what everyone else can do
with their "outdated" methods.

Without any network or cable, I "just can" transfer any file I want from
any computer I want (that has Bluetooth) to any iOS iPad I want, as long
as the two devices are near each other.

It just works for me, using my "outdated" methods - which I've used very
many times (in fact, it's my preferred method when I have no cable and no
network and a small number of files such as a few pictures or videos).

You can't do it at all using your "modern" methods.

Ponder that, and then tell me how dumb I am that I can do it without
installing *any* software on either device, let alone iTunes (which can't
do the job anyway).

You're right. I just tried to use AirDrop with WiFi turned off, and as
soon as I enabled AirDrop, WiFi was automatically turned on.

What confused me is that you don't have to be connected to a network; it
works peer to peer.

Michelle, you and nospam can't be as dumb as you appear.
You just can't do it.

Face it. It can't be done.

If you had an Android device, you'd be done already.
Why do you persist in even trying with an iOS device.

If it's from Apple, you just can't do it.
You must get pretty used to just giving up.

In this day and age? I'm without a cable or network so infrequently I
don't even think about such silly things. Again, that's the kind of ****
we did back in the 90s. You're either living in a vacuum or on a planet
other than Earth.

Meanwhile, while you'd be forced to "just give up", everyone else
would copy the files just fine.

Bull****. The fact is that rarely ever happens. The last time I needed
to do a Bluetooth file transfer to a smart phone was back in the ****ing
90s. The world has thankfully moved on since then. If there was a
genuine need for Bluetooth file transfers in iOS it would be there.

You're an idiot if you say that after having read the very first post
in this thread. Michelle is an idiot also - so maybe you are one and
the same.

Keep ranting, trollboi, it seems to be all that you are capable of
doing. That's about all you asshole trolls do.

If you did realized that, then you're just a troll.

You calling any of us a troll is like the Grand Wizard of the KKK
calling Nelson Mandela a bigot.

Oh, You can't do it? Sorry. Your "solution" is a POS since it just doesn't
work. You (and that Michelle copy of you) would "just give up".

You can't do **** with iTunes, and you know that. So you're either
incredibly stupid, or incredibly incapable of doing anything since I
can get *any* file from *any* Linux machine to *any* iPad without
installing *anything* on either device.

You "just can't".

*You* do *not* know *what* the ****** you *are* talking *about*,
asshole.

Either an idiot, or a troll - because you can't be that wrong all
the time without some semblance of purpose.

My computer was never involved in the original question, and if you
didn't realize that after having read the first post, then you're
an idiot.

the original question was about moving movies. you later described an 8
step scenario about taking photos on an ipad and copying them to a
computer.

you can't even keep your own story straight.

that makes you the idiot and troll.

Again, you can only either be an idiot, or a troll if you compare the
simple steps of connecting Linux to the iPad as being somehow more
complex than connecting an iTunes infested PC to the iPad.

plugging in the physical cable is the same.

beyond that, it's way more complex on linux, as is just about
everything.

To copy a few select files from any Linux system on the planet to any
iPad on the planet takes connecting the USB cable and then doubleclicking
on the desired automatic mount point, selecting control+c to copy and
control+v to paste.

That's it.

Now tell me how many steps it would be for *you* to connect any PC on the
planet to any iPad on the planet using your vaunted iTunes method?

1 step:
connect the device to the computer with a usb cable and let the
computer take care of the details.

or, set up wifi sync and there is no need to connect the device to the
computer at all. it might be a little slower but it's more convenient.

Oh, You can't do it? Sorry. Your "solution" is a POS since it just doesn't

it works great.

incredibly stupid, or incredibly incapable of doing anything since I

it's not me who is stupid and your absurd requirement of not installing
anything is just that, absurd.

computers are there to do work *for* the user which is why they install
various apps to do that work.

refusal to install software that makes things easier is stupid.

the fact that you're resorting to insults shows just how wrong you are.

once again, no network or cable is needed.

two devices on a deserted island can transfer files. no wifi. no
cables. just coconut trees.

Everyone else "just can" (because Bluetooth is just one of the many
tools that they can use).

it's also one of the slowest tools that they can use.

only an incredibly stupid person would intentionally choose bluetooth
when they can use 802.11ac or 802.11n.

Of course, you can't use it - and you knew that - so you persisted in
saying it's slow - when you knew - all along - that you just can't
transfer files when you don't have a cable or network.

yes i absolutely can.

But everyone else "just can" (because of Bluetooth!).

they'll be waiting a while, unless they're transferring only one or two
postage size photos.

I can run rings around you with my "outdated" information, because I can

oh yes i can, and in far fewer steps and over a far faster link.

bluetooth for file transfer is a joke.

For example, I can easily transfer selected photos from *any* Android
mobile device in the world with Bluetooth to *any* laptop in the world
with Bluetooth - even without a cable or a network - but you can't do it
at all with your iOS iPad. Period.

yes i can.

You "just can't".

yes i can.

I can easily transfer *any* video from *any* Linux or Windows computer
with MTP over USB cable to *any iPad* without adding any additional
software whatsoever on any of the devices - and - oh, what's that?

not to the device's media library you can't.

your way is restricted to one single app, a *huge* limitation.

With your "modern" methods, you "just can't); but me, with my "outdated"
methods, "just can".

keep thinking that.

you're so detached from reality and you don't even realize it.

So, tell me oh enlightened one.

I gave you an explicit example.

nope. you have that wrong. i never implied anything/

i said that i *could* do it, and i can.

If you're so smart (much smarter than I am with my "outdated" methods),
then just ell me how you will accomplish the simple task.

i already did and more than once.

you don't want facts because it would shatter your beliefs.

and try to keep up with what has been said before you paint yourself to
be an even bigger idiot than you already have.

Not in Mountain Lion.

You are wrong about that.

You could do it way before Mountain Lion, for that matter; you could do
it in Jaguar, which was Mac OS X 10.2.

Amazing what could be done that you said couldn't be done.

It's been around for quite a while.
